Overview
The Victoria Palace Theatre is an iconic theatre located directly outside Victoria Station in London. The theatre was designed by Architect Frank Mitchem. Building work commenced in the year 1910, and the theatre opened its doors to the public on 6th November 1911, with a total build bill of just £12,000. Its most notable productions include Annie, The Buddy Holly Story, Fame and Billy Elliot. In 2016 the theatre closed its doors for a multi-million-pound refurbishment.
Installation
CAT worked closely with Affinity Flooring and 8Build supplying hundreds of metres of solid brass stair nosings and flooring profiles for the theatre.
After numerous site visits and meetings, CAT's fabrication team formed a variety of shaped stair nosings for the curved step areas throughout the main auditorium.
CAT stair nosings and flooring profiles were supplied in highly polished brass to keep to the theatre's grand gold theme. All of the profiles were successfully installed in time for the theatres grand opening in December 2017 for their newest production, Broadway Musical - Hamilton.
